On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, a special event was held at the Náutico de Razo (Carballo) to promote the book A Costa da Morte, Edge of Europe, written by Xan Fernández Carrera. This publication, funded by Turismo de Galicia, offers a comprehensive guide to the region, covering its geography, history, legends, and tourist routes across 450 illustrated and bilingual pages (Galician and Spanish).
During the event, the Asociación de Profesionais de Turismo da Costa da Morte (APTCM) presented copies of the book to the mayors of the municipalities that are part of the Costa da Morte geodestination. Additionally, the books will be distributed to municipal libraries, tourist offices, and technical staff involved in promoting the region.
The event featured key figures in the promotion of tourism in Galicia, including Xosé Manuel Merelles, a representative from Turismo de Galicia, and Xosé Regueira, Vice President of the Deputación da Coruña and Tourism Deputy, who highlighted the importance of this project as an example of synergy between the business sector and public administrations to boost tourism in the region.
Members of APTCM who had not yet received a copy of the book were invited to attend, and it was noted that the book is also available at the Parador Costa da Morte and the Balneario de Carballo.
This work represents a significant step in promoting Costa da Morte as a tourist destination, providing a detailed guide that will enable both locals and visitors to discover the most fascinating corners of this legendary coast.
